Nashville Retreat: Year-Round Screened Porch
A screened porch built around a masonry fireplace and exposed beams, designed to stay comfortable well past the end of the Tennessee summer.
Studio work is light commercial construction with an unusual specification attached. Isolation, wall assemblies and the way services penetrate a room all matter in ways they simply do not in an office, and a detail that would pass anywhere else can undo a room here.
The build ran to a firm opening date, which meant sequencing trades tightly and holding the schedule through the finish stages when commercial projects usually slip.
Commercial permitting follows a different review path from residential work. We built the realistic timeline into the programme rather than the optimistic one.
