Restored historic Nashville home interior with original detailing

Old houses hide surprises. We plan for them rather than pretending they are not there.

What a historic project can cover

Working on an older home means working with what previous generations left behind: knob and tube wiring, unlevel floors, questionable framing changes, plaster that does not like being disturbed. None of that is a reason to avoid the work, but it is a reason to budget and schedule honestly.

We carry a contingency conversation into every historic project from the first walkthrough, so that when something opens up behind a wall there is already a plan and a number attached to it rather than an awkward phone call.

Where a property sits in a conservation or historic overlay, we handle the review requirements as part of the permitting work.

1

Sympathetic updates

Bringing systems and layout up to date while keeping the detailing that matters.

2

Structural repair

Addressing settlement, framing changes and rot uncovered once walls are opened.

3

Systems modernisation

Replacing dated wiring and plumbing without tearing the house apart to do it.

4

Overlay and review support

Handling historic and conservation review where the property requires it.

Question? Answered

The questions Nashville homeowners ask us most, answered straight.

In most cases, yes. We like the chance to talk through process, timing and the financial side so you can make an informed decision about your project. Even if we do not end up working together, we want to be a useful resource while you navigate the planning stage.

A phone call usually gets us a good way into the bid, but hard numbers are difficult to pin down until someone has seen the space. We strongly recommend a site visit wherever possible. Our standard hours are Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm, and Friday, 8am to 3pm.

Not in house. We do collaborate with architects and designers across Middle Tennessee on projects of every size, and we are happy to share a list of the people we know and trust so you can find the right fit for your project.

Yes. As your general contractor we stay current on building codes and regulations, pull the necessary permits, and schedule the inspections that keep your project compliant with local code.

Construction throws curveballs, it is the nature of the work. We raise the issue with you quickly, lay out the options, provide a revised estimate, and adapt the plan together rather than pressing on and surprising you later.

Our workmanship warranty covers one year from the date of substantial completion, and we reserve the right to correct deficiencies beyond that period where they stem from neglectful workmanship.
